Occupation Certificate

An Occupation Certificate is required after the building work has been completed and is the formal recognition that the building work has been completed. The certificate certifies that the work is consistent with the development approval and meets and the requirements of the National Construction Code.

An Occupation Certificate is linked to a Construction Certificate or Complying Development Certificate.

It is illegal to occupy any type of building without an occupation certificate – this includes houses.

Certicorp will issue your occupation certificate after the project has been completed in accordance with the approved plans and the conditions of Development Consent.
